Clients can require more than traditional financial planning and investment management services. Ethel and Jason are such customers. They had been good customers of Contour Financial for many years. They used our firm extensively for their financial planning needs. Ethel and Jason also had their assets held in custody at Charles Schwab and managed by Contour Financial on their behalf.
As Ethel and Jason reached their 70's, their situation began to change:
- They had bought a home in Michigan, but still kept the one they had in Orland Park.
- They slowed down somewhat, and were traveling for pleasure more since they both retired.
- Their accountant died, and needed help in finding a new one.
- Their adult child was considering divorce, and needed help in finding an attorney that was a specialist in this complex area.
As a result, they came to Contour Financial with what they thought were special requests. They needed
- assistance with bookkeeping
- the question answered as to whether or not they should refinance their mortgage
- help in implementing and maintaining their financial software programs
- help organizing their financial & miscellaneous records
- to find a divorce attorney and accountant.
This was nothing out of the ordinary for Contour Financial. Being that we are Private Wealth Managers, it is required that each client be given customized, personalized service. A financial firm can't certainly be all things to all people and any firm that claims to be is not being honest, but they should be flexible enough to assist the best they can.
